Jeremy Hackett had a literary vision for Spring/Summer 2013 sending out a collection inspired by the literary classic, “The Great Gatsby.” Like Fitzgerald’s protagonist, Hackett was moving his customer towards the future, but linking it to the past by adding a sense of romantic nostalgia from the heady bygone era of the 1920s.

Opening the show was an off white three-piece tailored suit, a sky blue shirt with contrasting white collar and cuffs, patterned tie and bright blue pocket square finished with two-toned oxford shoes and round tortoise shell glasses. This was followed by a line-up that was filled with seersucker, linen and double-breasted jackets and waistcoats, Jay Gatsby style.

Hackett then introduced a nautical theme with stripes worn with silky scarves, mixed with preppy cotton blazers. Traditional British three piece suits morphed into relaxed jackets with casual paisley trousers or Bermuda shorts. A model came down the runway wearing blue rolled-up paisley trousers under a double-breasted, white blazer, accessorized by a long flowing red paisley scarf and a natty pocket square.

After the colorful debut of casual attire, Hackett sent out all the models dressed in finely tailored three-piece suits and bowler hats in a sophisticated parade of tweeds and impeccably pressed trousers to remind us what his brand is all about – The suit.

Jeremy Hackett managed to blend old-world style and tailored classics with a new sporty edge to create the perfect posh summer wardrobe with the addition of bohemian paisley trousers, flash ties and silky pocket squares.
